America

I was born in Boston and I lived there until I was five. We moved to Ireland because both of my Grandparents lived there. I like America because in Winter there is lots of snow and it is very, very cold and Summer is very, very hot! Close to where I used to live there was a big ice skating rink open all year round.  I regularly look at our old house on Google Earth. I aspire to go back to America when I'm older and design houses and hotels!

Australia

I went to Australia last Summer. We went to Sydney and we stayed  with my Dad's cousin and his wife. We saw Sydney Opera House one day. Did you know that the man who designed the Opera House was inspired by a piece of orange? He was peeling the orange and he looked at the bits he'd already peeled off and they were all jagged, just like the roof of Sydney Opera House.

Then we went to Cairns (pron. Cans). We stayed in a campervan and one day we had a huntsman spider in our kitchen. My Dad screamed. It was weather perfect and the scenery was lovely. There were lots of mountains and forests. We had a great time and did a lot of swimming! We also visited the Great Barrier Reef and went snorkeling. We saw crocodiles, sharks, giant turtles and lots of beautiful fish. We weren't allowed to touch the coral or bring anything home from the beach.

A trip to the Emirates Stadium

7 April 2011

For my ninth birthday I  went to the Emirates Stadium to see Arsenal vs Sunderland. I don't support Arsenal but I was excited. Although it was not as exciting as watching Manchester United we went into the dreaded Arsenal shop where I bought an Arsenal jacket. Colm, my brother used up all his money on a scarf, gloves, hat and jacket. It was a disappointing match for Arsenal and they were even booed off by their own fans. The end result was nil all. My Dad was hoping that Arsenal would win so he kept hoeing that Kenwyn Jones would get the ball because he says he's useless but I think he is better than my dad... just about. The next time I go to England I want to see United.

Sharks:Great Whites

Great Whites are some of the most feared sharks that live in the oceans in the world. They have stared in several films about Sharks including the scary Jaws. They live almost everywhere, including the Atlantic,Indian and  Pacific oceans. They also prowl the Gulf of Mexico and the Red and Mediterranean seas. Great White Sharks grow to an average length of 3.7-4.9 meters, with the females being larger than the males. The biggest great white was caught off the coast of Cuba in 1945.It was an amazing 6.4 meters long and weighed a staggering 3.3 tonnes.

Hannahs personal review on her Hamster

7/4/11                                                             Hamsters
My hamster lives in a cage in my room.He is soft and quite fluffy. He eats seeds, banana flakes, pellets, dog food and corn.He only drinks water and loves to play in his tube with his sawdust. He is very friendly(well,to me anyway). He is noisy when he drinks because his teeth bang off the metal feeder. He is also noisy when he chews on the bars of the cage to smooth down his teeth. When I take him out to hold him he cuddles up to my fingers and when I try to put him back he grabs on to my hand!
Stunning Fact...
At night a hamster can run for about a mile on his wheel WOW!!!

My trip to London.'

Hello fellow bloggers. For my ninth birthday I got to go to the Emirates stadium home of " The Gunners" the greatest football team in England. We flew from Shannon to London and stayed in a hotel. The hotel was not to far from the stadium. While we were there we saw Tower Bridge. The next day we went to the stadium where Arsenal were playing Sunderland. Arsenal got a lot of chances but failed to score. Sunderland also continued  to get chances but were not able to take them. I was very disappointed that not only did we not win but we didn't get to see any goals at all, even though we are a classy side. After the match we went to Chinatown where I ordered my favourite food, deep fried sea weed with loads of sugar.

Facts about birds.

Birds are not mammals, because they lay eggs. Birds have lots of feathers. I had two pet birds. One was white and I named it Snowy. The other was brown and I named it Charlie. Both birds were finches. My mom bought me the birds. Birds live in trees. Birds build nests out of sticks, leaves and moss. Swallows migrate to warmer places such as Africa during the Winter. Birds eat berries, insects, bread and worms. Some are extinct such as the Moa and the Dodo. Birds lay different coloured eggs and are often different sizes. I don't have a favorite bird. Do you?      Good bye!               MADE BY AELEX!

MY DOG BELLA

My dog called Bella is my own dog.She was born in Drogheda and was raised there for two and a half months. The day my parents got her  I was at school and I didn't know because they wanted to make it a surprise. When I got home later I opened the car and there she was.It was like I opened the door to heaven. My dad came out and said to let her out to go to the toilet. I gave her the name Bella. I played with my dog.Every day now I think that if I could revisit one day I would choose the day I got my dog :).

Grace's Interest review Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

I,Grace O' Connell,  reviewed the book "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" by J. K. Rowling.
It is an interesting book about a boy called Harry Potter who is from the wizarding world. It tells us of his adventures at Hogwarts, his boarding school, which he  gets through with the help of his friends Ronald Weasley ( Ron)and Hermione Granger. The three of them are working hard to help Harry  get through the Triwizard Tournament because his name mysteriously came from the Goblet of  Fire.To me I found it  funny, sparky ,interesting and sad. I recommend it to everyone.I would rate it TEN OUT OF TEN.                                                Reviewed By Grace

France

I've been to France five years in a row. We didn't go to the same location every time. I like France because its really hot and there's loads of water parks and climbing activity centers. France has only sixty-five rainy days a year.
This year we're going to France again by ferry and we're going to three different camp sites. My mom is teaching us French next week so I will be able to talk to people there. Last time I went pony riding and we went to a space museum. There's loads of fun things to do in France and that's why I like it.  By Claire.

Rasmus's Personal Interest Review

My favourite band is the Gorillaz. They are a melancholy rock band. Some of their songs include Clint Eastwood, Plastic Beach and Melancholy Hill. I would say that 2-D is my favourite band member. There is a hilarious video of them on Youtube, it is called "Journey to  Plastic Beach". 2-D is the lead singer. Their videos are very entertaining and I would highly recommend you to watch them. The band members are called Murdoc, 2-D, Noodle and Russel. The Gorillaz started on MTV. Nobody knew who they were for a long time because they only showed their cartoons.

My first Galway United match

My first Galway United match was in the summer of 2010, against Liverpool XI. Liverpool didn't have the well known players like Gerrard and Torres, but had a good reserve team. In the 45th second Galway got an injury and were down to ten men for a while. Four minutes later Sean Kelly from Galway Utd blasted a free kick towards the goal, but it hit the crossbar. Liverpool stormed up the field and Galway were struggling to defend. Liverpool shot towards the goal and missed. In the second half Galway came back strongly and following a brilliant corner they scored, causing the Galway players to celebrate. The match finished at 1-0. The players shook hands and went into the tunnel.

when Hannah and I got snuggems

One day Hannah came over to my house. We went for a walk around the house. At the corner we saw the cat playing with something(my cat plays with its prey until they die). We realised it was playing with a baby bunny. Hannah and I told Carrie and we took the baby bunny off the cat. We got some bunny fur from an old nest and some hay and made the bunny a nest because it's mummy wouldn't accept it back. Hannah and I begged my mummy to let us keep it. To my surprise she agreed. Hannah and I were over our heads with joy. We decided to name her Snuggems.

Doughnut

Doughnuts are gorgeous. When you bite into it you want another bite. When its gone you are sad. Then you say "I'll get another." But then you think to yourself."It's bad for me, it will get stuck in my gut".
Doughnuts are from America.Homer Simpson eats them. You can get many diffrent types e.g.Sprinkels,Chocolate and Jam.I love it when the chocolate bursts out of the doughnut. You can suck and lick it.Its does not matter,it's still tasty. You can opt for plain or with suger either are delicious.I wish I had one right now.Yum yum yum! :) Albert..

Review; Foxes

Foxes are beautiful animals, rarely seen at day. They are related to wolves, although they are smaller and are a rusty red colour. They live in dens called earths, where they have their cubs. They are wild animals and they fight for a mate. People kill them for their furs which they make into coats. The farmers also lay out snares for them in Spring to stop them hunting their lambs. For a time, it seemed like foxes faced extinction. But now, thankfully, their numbers have increased. They are one of my favourite animals and I am glad they have survived. It must have been very hard for the species and many were killed. I hope they will survive in the future.
